Joseph Harold Pierre is an academic, consultant, and grassroots leader.

He is an expert in macroeconomics, public policy, public finance, State reform and modernization, and governance, as well as in citizen security, political parties, and electoral systems. He has presented his research at world-class universities such as Oxford and Cambridge, and in high-level fora such as the III International Peace Building Congress.

He also has wide-ranging experience in the public sector, multilateral organizations, and NGOs. For example, he worked in the Ministry of Finance of the Dominican Republic, in the area of programme and project formulation, implementation, and evaluation. As a consultant, his clients have included the European Union, the Spanish Embassy in the Dominican Republic, and the Friedrich Ebert Stiftung.

Joseph Harold Pierre is a public opinion leader and speaker on economy and politics of Latin America, Haiti, and the Dominican Republic. Over the last ten years, he has published countless papers and articles on Haiti’s economy, politics, and public administration in journals and newspapers. He is also the founder and general coordinator of a youth movement, N Ap Sove Ayiti (NAPSA).

He holds three masters degrees, one each in Economics, Political Science, and Public Administration, and is currently working towards a doctorate at Nottingham Trent University (UK).
